There are many types of "Hatha Yoga" offered in our society, but any class of movement is considered "Hatha Yoga" no matter how therapeutic, or how dynamic it may be.

The word “yoga” means “union” and refers to the spiritual union between the body, mind, and spirit. By controlling the breath and holding the body in steady poses or “asanas”, yoga creates harmony within all the systems of the body. Asanas are specifically designed to sculpt the body, release muscular tension, and tone internal organs. By linking breath with movement, yoga strengthens the mind-body-pirit connection. Regular participants benefit from less stress and anxiety, a centered mind, and an enhanced sense of well being. Health benefits include lower blood pressure, increased strength and flexibility, better stress management, and long-term weight loss. Regular yoga practice at Jyoti Yoga Therapy, YogaPatricia will cultivate mindfulness and presence for a healthier lifestyle.

All skill levels are welcome at Jyoti Yoga Therapy, YogaPatricia. If you are new to yoga, this is a great place to begin your practice in Tucson. Bring your mat, an open mind, and a willingness to discover new possibilities. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move easefully. We provide assists to support your practice and help you move freely into the full expression of each pose. We encourage you to do as much as you feel comfortable doing and know that you can take child’s pose at any time. We begin each class by awakening the living body within each of us and strongly encourage you to always honor the wisdom of the body. If the teacher within says no, please take a resting pose.

We help experienced yoga practitioners go deeper in their practice while respecting individual needs. We encourage all to move towards a mindful practice that balances the physicality of asanas with breath work and meditation. Whether you are new to yoga or have made it a part of your lifestyle for many years, we invite you to enter the studio with a beginner’s mind and be open to the possibilities of your practice.

At Jyoti Yoga Therapy, YogaPatricia, we practice the intention of yoga by treating everyone with honor and love. We are passionate about helping students deepen their mind/body/spirit connection, detoxify their bodies, heal from past physical injuries and emotional trauma, and empower personal growth.
